Somerset House

Many of our highlights from working in Somerset House include…

… having access to some of their most fascinating spaces. The Deadhouse is undoubtedly the most unusual venue in which we work in the whole of London. The privilege of setting up in the Fountain Courtyard…….on a dry day, is up there with the views from both balconies of the Portico Room. Stand out events have included The White Company’s Christmas party, complete with dozens of trees and projected snowfall, a Sipsmith tasting event and a fashion show for Carolina Herrera at which our Technicians felt decidedly underdressed. We were very fortunate to work on a substantial event for Bosch which included a car track around the courtyard for electric vehicles as well as live motion capture and projection mapping with the RSC. We were also privileged to be asked to assist with Sir John Major’s speech on Brexit.

There are so many aspects to working at Somerset House that we enjoy…

… from the wonderful events team to the numerous and ever changing spaces in which we have been working since 2015. For us, it’s just a short hop over the river from our HQ at Waterloo so it’s easy enough to service a last minute event or attend a production meeting. We have provided audio visual and production support for conferences, product and press launches, dinners andparties, fashion shows and  receptions. These have taken place in around 20 different locations, some of which are not always available for hire.

About Somerset House:   The history of this collection of buildings, terraces and courtyards stretches back to the 16th century and started life in the hands of the Duke of Somerset, the land granted to him by his brother-in-law King Henry VIII. Over the centuries it has existed as a royal palace and home to a large and varied number of organisations from the army and navy board to the Inland Revenue and the Registry of Births, Marriages and Deaths. There are over a dozen historic or contemporary spaces for hire. Those looking to hold any type of event will find a suitable area within Somerset House’s large portfolio.
